How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date? Hello, I'm 49 years young and have been fighting with my weight for over 15 years. My husband and I own a restaurant which makes it physically and emotionally exhausting. I've tried many diets throughout the years including diet pills but always gained the weight back. Last May one year ago, I decided to take my life back, get control and change. I started eating clean and working out. I've lost 43 pounds and tons of inches. I still have 15 more pounds to go, it's a slow process but I am so much happier!

What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then? My mother believed every dinner should have a protein, veg and starch. We ate comfort food often and was not concerned with clean eating at all. My family ate and drank! NOW I eat entirely differently, I stopped drinking alcohol during the week, I only eat good carbs, eat a ton of veggies, protein and fruits. I do have a cheat day on the weekends, but honestly always feel like crap after!

Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching? I do not play sports or watch sports on tv.

What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile? I'm a gym addict, my interest is working out, jogging, Zumba, anything related to fitness. I have two kids, 19 and 15 they make me smile! I also smile when people say "hey you look like your lost weight, you look awesome"

What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change? Seeing myself in pictures, embarrassing but I will share.  Buying clothes and size sixteen was getting snug. Having a muffin top over!!

What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months? I'm still a work in progress. Working to lose another 15 pounds, my goal is to wear a bikini comfortably! I'd like to teach a boot camp class and inspire others to help lose weight and gain a healthy lifestyle.

What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation? Be patient, it doesn't come on over night. Don't quit cause starting over sucks, lol!
