Transformation Tuesday with Brittany
WOW Brittany! Hats off to you babe, what an amazing journey and 20kgs - 45lbs lighter WHOOSH!!!! It was great reading your before and after transformation story and how you were able to get out of your melancholy state of mind. That takes a lot of courage and commitment. Thank you for being our Transformation Tuesday super star and keep up the great work and inspiring others, that they too can feel positive and happy living a healthy lifestyle.
How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date?
I am 25 years old. I started my fitness journey at 223 lbs, late September 2014. I am now 45lbs down and counting :)
What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then?
I ate a lot of everything. Take out, fast food, and anything cheesy. Now 95% of the time I eat food that I prep at home.
Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching?
I don't really watch sports, but I like to stay active and try new activities! It's good to challenge yourself!
What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile?
Fitness is my passion. It is a HUGE part of my life. Nothing makes me happier than inspiring and helping others!
What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change?
One day I just came to the realization that I don't HAVE to be depressed, look and feel run down, that I didn't have to change 12 times because I felt disgusting in everything that I wore. I just couldn't live that way anymore.
What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?
When I started my journey just about 7 months ago, I told myself that my goal was to load 60lbs. I can't even believe how close I am to that goal, now at 45 pounds down. But, I have picked up so many other goals along the way, including being able to do certain physical activities that I have felt too out of shape for, or too embarrassed to do in the past. I am very excited for the future!
What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation?
One regret of mine is that I didn't take more "before" pictures. I know how hard it can be to really look at yourself like that, but one day (and sooner than you realize), you'll be soo happy that you have those for comparison! It's incredible to see how your body changes.
Surround yourself with positive & supportive people. If you don't have that support and encouragement at home, the Instagram fitness community is so amazing. I have made so many friends who are also on their own journeys, and it's great to have people right there with you.
And lastly, love yourself. I know that might sound silly now, especially if you felt how I did when I was just starting. But you, right now, are the only reason that the future you, who has reached their goals and become stronger mentally & physically, will even exist. Your struggles can either bring you down, or make you stronger. Nobody has that control but you! xO
