Transformation Tuesday with Aicha Smith

Another Tuesday means a new opportunity to share an inspirational Transformation story – this week it’s from Aicha, who’s an Australian mum of three currently living in Thailand.

She’s seeing some real results from her own fitness journey and she’s really keen to inspire others to take their own journey too.

Whether or not you’re had children yourself, I’m sure you’ll relate to Aicha.

Have you got your own Transformation Tuesday you’re proud to tell us about? I’d love to hear about it at DaniStevens.com

Every day is a great day to get moving. Whatever you’re doing to look after your body today, have fun doing it – and if you can get your friends and family to join in with you, even better.

How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date?

I am soon to be 29 and a mother of three young children. I started my fitness and healthy lifestyle journey after my second child. I didn't set out for anything in particular - more to make healthier choices, and to feel a happier, fitter mother. I then got on the bandwagon and thought, ‘hang fire, I'm seeing results - I'm feeling better and I want to inspire others on their journey’.

What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then?

It was not what I ate, it was the amount, I could never get portion control right. I feel, being a mother, I want to fill my children with the best goodness possible but when it came to me I seemed to binge a bit. I don't let my children do it so why should I allow myself!!

Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching?

My husband is a professional football player so I have taken to soccer!!

What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile?

My interests are to make others feel good about themselves. My passion is bringing up my children to be the best little people they can be. And what makes me smile is when I do volunteering in some of the schools in the Bangkok slums and bringing smiles to kids faces and realising how lucky we are.

What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change?
I wanted my kids to do as they see and not do what I say. As feel as parents we are there biggest role model.
What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?

My dreams and goals for this year are:

As I have recently moved to Bangkok from Australia, I would love to be more involved in volunteering. I feel everyone can give up a tiny part of their life to help someone out. Whether it's a friend a charity or anyone you feel could do with a helping hand. I would like to start up a fitness business sharing my story and inspiring others to lead a healthier lifestyle.

What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation?

Do it for yourself - as you’re the only person who knows when you are truly happy. I have many people telling me now that I am too skinny and ‘don't lose any more weight’ and feel people forget where I have come from. I am happier, healthier and fitter - surely that's what truly matters!!
