Transformation Tuesday with Adam

How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date?

I am 17 years old, turning 18 this September. About a year ago I was 190 pounds. I had anxiety issues, low self-esteem  and extremely unhealthy habits. My family signed up for a gym and I decided to try it out as well. At first, I just walked on the treadmill and used some machines but I didn't find I was seeing any results. I worked with a personal trainer a few times and eventually started Bootcamp training sessions. I got to workout with great people and learn new ways to effectively reach my weigh loss goals. I also began going to the gym on my own more often, since I learned more exercises to do on my own and had more confidence. I went down to 163 lbs in 4 months and since then I have been working on gaining muscle and tightening up my stomach. Today, I am at a healthy weight of 172 lbs still looking to gain muscle and going hard at the gym everyday.

What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then?

I used to eat chocolate a lot and fast food at least 3 times a week. My eating habits have definitely improved. I rarely eat fast food and try to stay away from any sweets. Eating mostly chicken and vegetables.

Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching?

I'm on the track and field team at school and do taekwondo.

What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile?

I love working out, reading writing, taekwondo and running.

What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change?

The personal trainer that I started working with before I started seeing any results had a huge effect on me and got me passionate about fitness.

What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?

I hope to gain muscle but maintain mobility. I love running as well as weight training and my main goals consist of lifting heavier weights, as well as getting faster.

What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation?

Remember to remind yourself that you can do it, and take pride in small achievements. You won't transform over night but day by day you notice small differences in yourself and it's important to notice them and feel proud of your hard work.
