How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date?

Im 21 and over the past 15 months I've lost just over 40 kilos.

What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then?

I used to eat a lot of takeaways and snack on chocolate, chips, lollies - all the bad stuff. I eat a lot healthier now - but i don't deprive myself completely of the stuff I love - like dark chocolate.

Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching?

I used to play a lot of sports when I was younger - now I just stick to watching sport. I love afl and tennis!

What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile?

I love swimming and boxing. I also love being outdoors and exploring with friends.

What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change?

I was unhappy and always exhausted. I knew for a while that I needed to make a change - other people had tried to motivate me, but in the end I was the only one who could make the changes I needed to and work towards a healthier lifestyle.

What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?

I want to continue living a healthy lifestyle. I don't aim to lose more weight, mainly to just maintain my current weight and tone up a bit. But over all just enjoy life and all its adventures.

What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation?

Find what works for you. I tried to lose weight for a long time but could never get into a routine. Then I decided to try swimming because I loved that when I was younger - although going to the pool in bathers was a big challenge. Find someone to go with you - I started swimming with my sister, she stopped after a while but I was already in a routine and after a while felt comfortable enough to go by myself. I lost about 30 kilos through swimming and then wanted to change it up. I started going to classes with a best friend - having just one person to keep you accountable and ask you to come along with them when you can't really be bothered really helps!
