Transformation Tuesday with Cam

You may recognise Cameron Brown from the Biggest Loser show last year. However his journey on screen lasted for only two weeks due to his heart condition. That didn't stop him. As a husband and father, his motivation and dedication to stay fit was all thanks to the support of his family and friends. Let's take a few minutes as he shares with us about his present life off-cam. Thanks Cam for taking time to share your new fitspo journey with us.

Transformation Tuesday with Cam

How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date?

I am 36 yrs old and my journey has been anything but simple. Have been a contestant on the biggest loser but had to do it for myself after being sent home. I had to get my own personal trainer and also train 6 days a week I lost 60kgs and over 1/3 was lost outside the biggest loser house. I am now a active fit and love nothing more than playing sport again I made my senior football comeback after 15 yrs and have also played senior cricket with my son. I have completed 3 half marathons. My wife has also lost over 25kgs as well.

What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then?

My diet used to consist of take away food and way to much energy drinks and beer I also was a very heavy smoker I never ate breakfast now can't function without breakfast.

Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching?

I like to watch football and I am a massive Richmond fan. Also like to watch cricket as well but I by far enjoy playing sport more than watching. I love pre season footy training and I love playing cricket with my son. And love playing netball with my daughter..

What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile?

All my interests invoke keeping fit. I love working out with my wife she is the most inspirational lady I have ever met and she makes me smile everyday and I can't help but smile as I was told I would be dead at 52 if I didn't change my lifestyle. I think I have done that now

What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change?

My wife and kids that pushed me to do the biggest loser and also my personal trainers jackie and Paul crabtree. One of my biggest motivations was Aysha my daughter she was really effected from the biggest loser and was scared that I would hurt myself but one she is so proud.

What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?

I have my first goal is to play same senior football game then retire and assist with coaching and helping out. And I also will support my wife as she will complete her first half marathon on the great ocean rd this year. Also will start helping people lose weight and get active.

What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation?

My tip is you must reward yourself buy a new pair of jeans or a new outfit when you hit targets. set small goals and tick them off. Find something that will motivate you to lose weight or get fit. I am so happy I started lifting weights as I think at finale I was too light and now have maintained my weight at 88kgs for over 12 months
