Super Cross Fit Inspiration David Driskell
Today it brings me much pleasure to introduce you to this incredible cross fit athlete, coach and model David Driskell. I met this inspiration via Instagram last year and he is doing some amazing things. Besides being a fit and lean, fighting machine, he is also doing some great work! These past 3 years he has been inspiring others to keep fit and healthy but his main driver in life is to give back to those less fortunate than ourselves. So he travels the world and has recently started a charity and is raising money to help support Harvest India.
Here's just one aspect of why he wants to make change;
80% of all illness in the world come from water born diseases
100 million people in the world do not have access to good sources of drinking water
1 water pump can provide clean water and change the lives of an entire village
You know how much I love people, especially people helping other people (hence why I am the THANKYOU ambassador) so check out this video and donate if you can! https://grouprev.com/rickshawrun-harvestindia
Let's get to know Dave a bit more and everything else that's fitness, food and style!
1. What fitness activity do you schedule into your daily routine to keep healthy? Crossfit is my primary passion and for me it has worked wonders! I first found Crossfit in 2009 and started slowly implementing it into my fittness regime but many of the movements and ideals were so new and couldn't always be done at a standard gym. In 2011 I joined an official "Box" and after that first insanely hard workout I was hooked! 10 months later I received my Coaching Certificate and couldn't wait to share this fun sport with others! The combinations of Gymnastics, Olympic Weightlifting and Metobolic Conditioning was insane, hard, unexpected and constantly challenging. All these years later I wouldn't have it any other way! Every day is a new, fun rush!
2. Describe your dream meal - what could we expect to find on your plate? haha Dream Meal good? or dream meal bad? Ok I'll give you both! Let's start with the naughty.. a lot of people say pizza. Which is good but I'll take it a step further. NACHOS! I cant help it. It has chips, a ton of gooey cheese, jalepenos, pico de gallo, more cheese, fresh guacomole and maybe a dab of sour cream! The ratio of chips, and fixing to the cheese needs to be perfect. Fun fact. I have a "Nachos" tattoo on my inner lip!
Oh, wow, just typing this is putting me into a food coma! I havent had some proper nachos in about 6 months! Ok and now on to the good!
Huge Steak, cooked medium rare. A side of steamed veggies (broccoli, carrots, and more) and then for dessert, baked sweet potato with a bunch of melted almond butter on top!
3. Who’s your go to style icon - who have you always admired for their style, and why? To be honest, I don't have a style icon. I personally don't even think I have style ha ha. You will usually find me in my gym gear or board shorts and singlet is my go to dress here in Bali, Indonesia. Back in the States I'm a simple jeans and t-shirt kind of guy. I currently own 2 pairs of jeans, a few pairs of converse, and t shirts. Live simple is my motto. Ironically I've modeled for huge labels and worn some crazy fashionable things in my day but I usually just go back to the basics for myself.
4. Name three things you can’t leave the house without and why? Sadly enough. I'm damn too attached to my Mobile Phone. So that would be 1. Other than that I'm again pretty simple. I ride a Motorbike so bringing a ton of stuff is limiting anyway. The lighter the better. I tend to just cruise with my Cell phone, some cash and a snapback hat just in case the hair needs some fixing!
