Seafood heaven in Sydney
Can I just say how much I am loving seafood lately. Not only was it our Day 15. Seafood food item for our #foodiesphotoaday challenge but I just can't stop eating it! Check what I have had on the menu these last few days in Sydney.... all I can say is that when I SEA food, I order it... haha
Sydney Rock Oysters with grilled Octopus
Okay so they say oysters are an aphrodisiac — apparently scientists did a study on this back in 2005. But the sexual health benefits notwithstanding, oysters have a lot of other great qualities to offer. They deliver 16 grams of protein per 6-ounce serving; PLUS they are loaded in vitamins C and B-12; and they're rich in zinc, selenium, and iron.
Make sure you order some today!
Tarter King of Salmon with Fennel and Orange salad
This well known and popular fish is a very good source of easily digestible proteins (amino acids), and fatty acids like Omega-3 in the form of triglyceride, loaded with vitamins such as vitamin-D, vitamin-A and some members of the vitamin-B family. It also contains minerals like selenium, zinc, phosphorus, calcium and iron.
Do you love salmon?
Soba Noodle, Smoked Trout, Mushroom and Sesame Salad, Sesame Dressing
This was scrumptious, so many delicious flavours but the hero was trout. It's my favourite as I was the trout gutting queen back at my parents trout farm. Did you know trout is one of the healthiest fish you can include in your diet, experts say. Farmed trout, especially farmed rainbow trout, is a better choice than wild lake trout, since farmed trout is raised in freshwater ponds and raceways that are protected from environmental contaminants. I should know this! We lived on a trout farm for 2 years!
So go trout yourself!
I hope you get a chance to explore some seafood soon and let me know what some of your favourite dishes are and what you would like to see me cooking on video soon.
I am gearing up to do some regular online content (the fun stuff) with you, so you can see how I squeeze all my activities in my day!
