Raw Raspberry Smoothie by Naturally Holly

From the age of thirteen, Holly George passionately declared herself a Vegetarian and developed a lifelong fascination with alternate living. She says it was therefore a natural progression from school to move straight into a Bachelor of Health Science Naturopathy as it was an area of total love and curiosity for her. It was not until she had graduated and started practising that Naturally Holly came about. After five years of working with individuals towards their health goals she began to feel that she would like to take things to the next level. She thus rebirthed the Naturally Holly site and poured all of her time and resources into spreading health news in unconventional ways that would help people walk this path for life.

I met the beautiful Holly earlier this year at Bloom and found her amazing! I am so delighted to welcome her today as she takes 5 minutes with us to share everything about her fitness, food and style.

What fitness activity do you schedule into your daily routine to keep healthy? I like to keep my exercise as flexible as my life. I am a huge advocator of meal plans and exercise planning is no different. I look at my week in my (paper) diary (yes I am that old fashioned) and see what I have on so that I can fit in my exercise without getting jelly arms. At the moment it is a blend of personal training, traditional gym regime, yoga and hikes. This brings me complete balance and I never get bored.

Describe your dream meal- what could we expect to find on your plate? My dream meal comes in a glass baby! I am all about the smoothie and traditionally have one, if not two every single day. I love the fact that I can blend something ridiculously tasty that loves me back in the blink of an eye. If I have to choose one recipe I will go with my Raw Raspberry Ripe-Postworkout Smoothie #fullyraw.

Ingredients

2 bananas 1 tbsp. rice protein 1 tbsp. Maca powder 1 tbsp. Cacao powder 2 tbsp. Chia seeds 1 tsp vanilla essence 1 pinch Celtic sea salt 1 cup frozen organic raspberries 1 cup coconut water

Who’s your go to style icon- who have you always admired for their style, and why? Hmmm you know what, I could not pick one particular person as everyone is a chameleon and so am I. One day I will be in full Rockabilly swing with big lips and eyeliner. The next day I love boyfriend jeans and a butterfly kimono top. I think that fashion is such a great way to say to the world, this is who I am today and flexibility is vital.

What’s a childhood habit or mannerism that has followed you into adulthood? Oh this one is easy, I sing, all of the time but especially when I am alone or hanging out with my furbabies. My fiancé thinks that it is a by-product from being an only child and needing to amuse myself all day. I feel like it is my pressure valve and allows me to express a whole lot of feelings without dwelling on them too much.

Name three things you can’t leave the house without and why? I have a massive mustard, satchel style, Vegan leather backpack that I lug around everywhere with me for all of my fruit lol Seriously, the three things I cannot leave the house without are my Hurraw cinnamon lip balm. My big beautiful stainless steel, lotus water bottle to keep hydrated without any nasty plastic. And my phone to Instagram everything I eat.
