I love the way my life has turned out. Do you ever stop and think about that? So there I am walking along the beach with my AMAZING kids and what’s in my hand? A delicious, cold, refreshing and very GREEN juice. I blitzed a world of greens into one nutritious green juice and took it with me for our family walk…sipping all the way. That was the start to one day in March and one serve of good-for-you-greens just a few gulps away. Spinach, celery, a bit of broccoli for added punch – and I added some green apple and green grapes to make it a bit sweeter and juicier (I’m not a huge fan of bitter and that’s why I choose spinach over kale, by the way…) Me. Kids. A green juice. Did I imagine when I was being kind of wild and crazy in my 20s that I’d be a fitness motivating healthy mum-of-four in my 40s – helping show other people all around the world all the small steps they can take to be healthier and happier? Did I imagine happiness would be the idea of drinking spinach juice and going for a simple walk in the fresh air with the sound of the waves soothing my mind? No way. Do I love that it’s worked out that way? Yes!

It’s my absolute fave. The “coconut” protein powder “SUPERFOOD”. You’ve probably got the ingredients in your fridge and pantry right now. Strawberries, honey, coconut water, a banana AND…of course, SPINACH. Yum. Why are things that are green SO good for your skin and your fitness? Lots of green leafy veggies are considered superfoods because they are rich with anti-oxidants. Then there’s Vitamins – A, C and E can be found in most green foods. And did I mention iron and zinc? And another reason you should be going green in March (and beyond!)? Green veggies are also packed with high water content – especially the dark, leafy ones. So that means low calorie intake – a great way to give you the energy and nutrients your active body needs without stacking on excess calories. Brilliant.

And then there’s the power of chlorophll – leafy greens are full of it. And it’s brilliant for your body and glowing good health. It’s a phytonutrient that detoxifies your blood and loads it with oxygen – PLUS it’s packed with amino acids. So what are you having for lunch today? Greens! Right?
