Home Beautiful With Melissa Lunardon

I love my talented friend Melissa Lunardon who always makes my home feel and look beautiful.  She has over 9 years of experience creating beautiful home spaces including interior design and styling for commercial properties. Check out her fab and amazing work and things she's been up to since we met nearly 4 years ago! Oh how things change when you are having so much fun.

About Mel here

I'll never forget when we connected all those years ago and she helped me decorate the boys and girls room when we were living back in Victoria 3 years. Super cute and fitting for their early baby and toddler stages. You can see the boys inspo rooms here

Now that we have moved to the coast I asked her for some beachy scandi and boho inspo and I sent her over some of my rooms so she could come up with some ideas and here's what she recommended:

"Hi Dani,

I have put together 2 concept boards to help you with your style. It is a mix of Boho Chic and Scandi style. There is a mix of black and white, with timber and greenery to really soften the look. The first concept board relates to the entry area and packs a real punch. The round jute rug helps zone the area and is very easy to look after.

Above the buffet, I think a mix of the round mirror, and print with the Ahoy Trader cross gives it that Boho look.

You can also add in 2 pendant lights to the corner to create an ambient feel once you walk in.

The 2nd concept board can help you finish off the family/lounge areas. I’ve found another natural jute rug which is a nice contrast from the tiled floor and light coloured sofas.

As for the sofas, really layer it up with lots of cushions and faux throws. Either 1 or 2 of those Ikea black cane chairs, adds dimension to the space and creates a reading type nook when teamed with the floor lamp and side table.

I’ve added in options for artwork with a mix of photography and abstract. The pendant lights for the Kitchen are pretty cool, they are quite beachy but in black, they look quite contemporary and will work well over your island bench. I’ve also found a couple of bar stool options with backs on them."

What a superstar! We are still chatting about final design concepts but I wanted to send a special thank you to Mel for all her creative ideas and expertise. If I'm not tagging her on Instagram, I sending her pins over on my Pinterest boards.

Mel has always got ideas for me and knows my style, I cannot wait for our next bathrooms adventure and major outdoor landscaping project COMING SOON. Well next year most probably as it involves revamping the pool tiles, decking around the pool, new fencing and a complete tropical oasis of plants!
